The Kopi Luwak, or civet coffee, is one of the world's most expensive coffees. It is made from the beans of coffee berries which have been eaten by the civet cat. The cat eats the berries for the yummy fleshy pulp and the beans are swallowed whole. The beans pass through the animals rather long digestive tract and finally are defecated. These beans are laboriously picked (!) up from the poop, thoroughly washed and dried and finally roasted and drunk! We will try and procure some of this at Tariero for our courageous few clients!
